Vacation Homes

The term vacation homes can refer to many things. Some people have homes they live in most of the year, and then they have vacation homes they visit when they want to relax. Usually these people can afford to run two households year around, like celebrities or top-level business executives. If the owner visits these homes frequently throughout the year, they may maintain a staff, such as house cleaners and a chef, year round. Some famous people even loan out their vacation homes to their celebrity friends during the year.

Sometimes vacation rentals are referred to as vacation homes. These are homes that can be rented for a period of time, such as a week or two, while you are on vacation. An example is if you and four other family members wanted to vacation at the beach. Rather than get several hotel rooms, you could rent a vacation home big enough to accommodate everyone. Additional benefits is being able to cook in a kitchen rather than eating out all the time and having a living room within which you can relax as well.

Then there are vacation homes that are actually timeshare homes. These are for people who would like to be able to have a vacation home, but cannot afford the expensive of it. Instead of purchasing it yourself, you purchase it with other families. The share of the home (the amount of time you get in it) can range from one week to four weeks a year or even use of it every other year. Of course, the cost will depend on how much you use it and how many others share the cost with you. If you cannot spend your vacation in your vacation home during your designated time, you can rent your time to others. Vacation home timeshares have become so popular that many people have used the idea for sharing planes and luxury cars.
