Mexico Vacations
Mexico vacations have many features to offer. When you are thinking of Mexico, many cities come to mind: Acapulco, Cancun, and Los Cabos (sometimes known as Cabos San Lucas). Each city has unique Mexican attractions to offer travelers and make excellent destinations for Mexico vacations.
One of the best parts of Acapulco to visit is the historic downtown and Old Acapulco. Here you can find such attractions as the Fort of San Diego, the Mágico Mundo Marino Aquarium and the La Quebrada. The Fort of San Diego was once the most important fort of the Spanish on the pacific coastline. Now it houses the Acapulco’s History Museum that includes artifacts such as pottery, masks and sculptures. The aquarium not only houses both indoor and outdoor exhibits of marine life, but also has a restaurant and two water slides. If you wish, you can also take scuba and snorkeling lessons. You will not want to miss La Quebrada, a feature attraction of Acapulco. Here you can see divers leap from heights of 136 feet into an inlet that is only 11 feet deep. Each day there are five performances including four spectacular night shows where the divers leap with lit torches.
If you want to learn more about the Mayan history, Cancun is the place
for you. Visit the Chichen Itza Mayan ruins (including temples, palaces,
stages and markets), Coba (the largest Mayan city ever built) and it pyramid
Nohoch Mul, and the Tulum Mayan ruins (the only ruins found on the Caribbean
coast). Once you are through exploring the Mayan history, visit the Xcaret
Eco-archaeological Park where you can ride horses on the beach, swim with
dolphins and explore underground rivers.
Los Cabos is great during the months of January through April if you
want to go whale watching. You can also take in the breathtaking natural
rock arch called El Arco, located between the Gulf of California and the
Pacific Ocean. The El Faro De Cabo Falso or the Lighthouse of False Cape
is located near El Arco and is best viewed by boat.
Mexico vacations can be filled with beautiful landscapes, exciting exhibits and many historical sites.
