Hawaii Vacation

Perhaps one of the most beautiful, serene locations in the United States is Hawaii. A tropical paradise, Hawaii consists of several islands that tourist like to visit: Hawaii, Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Lana’i. There were over 7 million to take a Hawaii vacation in 2005 alone.

When you take your Hawaii vacation, there are plenty of attractions to keep you busy. One obvious attraction is the beach. Most of the Hawaiian beaches have white sand and the water is a beautiful blue. Before visiting the beach, you may want to research them on the Internet. On the Big Island (Hawaii) alone, there are over fourteen beaches including Laaloa Beach Park, Holoholokai Beach Park, and Samuel Spencer Beach Park. Many of them have picnic areas, snorkeling, and swimming. You may also want to go sailing, kayaking, or scuba diving while there. Outdoor lovers will also enjoy hiking and biking on the island. One bike tour lets you explore the historic Ka’a’awa Valley. Hawaii is filled with amazing waterfalls such as the Waikahula Falls at the Liliokalani Gardens. But be sure to check out the incredible Upside Down Waterfall that is located on Mount Konahuanui.

If you have never been to Hawaii before, you may want to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center. Here you can learn more about the traditions of the Hawaiian people as well as those of the other Polynesian villages including Tonga, Tahiti, the Marquesas, Fiji, New Zealand, and Samoa. The center also features the Alii luau, guaranteed to be the best on in Hawaii. No Hawaii vacation is complete without a Luau.

If you tire of the outdoors, you can always visit the Ala Moana Shopping Mall. It offers over 260 merchants, 70 restaurants and the Centerstage. You can see weekly Keika Hula shows every Sunday morning on the Centerstage as well as 500 other performances throughout the year.
