When people think of a Florida vacation, they usually think of sand, sun, and beaches. But Florida has much more to offer to vacationers.

If you happen to find your Florida vacation taking you to the oldest city there, St. Augustine, check out the Alligator Farm Zoological Park. Dating back to 1893, this park offers a complete collection of crocodilians. You can also visit Marineland to see dolphins, seals and many other sea creatures.

Many Florida vacations include visiting theme parks. Florida is famous for Walt Disney World Resort, which include the Epcot Center and MGM Studios. Universal Studios is located in Orlando and offers thrilling rides and great shows. See if you dare to ride the Revenge of the Mummy rollercoaster or compete in Fear Factor Live. There is also Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay. Busch Gardens is the home of the Gwazi, not only the Southeast’s largest, but also fastest wooden rollercoaster. The park also offers KaTonga, a musical celebration of African stories and animal folklore. You can also see many animals at Busch Gardens including the world famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses. Finally, there is SeaWorld Adventure Park in Orlando where you can view dolphins, whales and sharks.

If you are in the mood to learn something while on your Florida vacation, visit the Kennedy Space Center. You can tour replicas of space shuttles and stations or tour the new U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. You can also ask your space heroes questions during the daily Astronaut Encounter briefings. The two IMAX theaters feature five-story screens and allow you to experience space with adventure footage such as “Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D.”
