Disney Vacation
A Disney vacation can be fun for the whole family. Not only do kids love it, but adults as well. There are three Disney vacation destinations: Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resort, and EuroDisney.
Walt Disney wanted to create a family theme park that was in a permanent location, unlike the traveling carnivals of the day. He also thought it was important that the park not only have attractions for kids, but their parents as well so the whole family could enjoy visiting it. In 1955, his dream came true when Disneyland, in Anaheim California, became the first Disney theme park to open. Estimates show that over 500 million people have visited this park in the past 50 years. Just as Walt Disney envisioned, this Disney vacation has something for everyone in the family including Main Street, U.S.A, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Mickey’s Toontown.
By 1971, Walt Disney World Resort had opened in Florida. Now there were Disney vacations available on both coasts of the United States. Walt Disney World Resort has a Magic Kingdom Park, inspired by Disneyland, but it also has much more. As the years past, the Epcot Center, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom were added. There are also water parks, a sport complex, racetrack, shopping centers, golf courses and hotels located in the Downtown Disney center. This theme park, covering 47 square miles is the largest one in the world.
The final Disney resort, Disneyland Resort Paris or EuroDisney, its original name, was completed in 1992. This theme park receives more visitors than any other theme park in Europe. Disneyland Resort Paris features Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios, Golf Disneyland and Disney Village. There are seven hotels at Disneyland Resort Paris ranging from four-star hotels to two-star hotels.
No matter which Disney vacation you decide to take, you can rest assured that your whole family will have the adventure of a lifetime.
